Vilnius-based startup Walk15 recently secured a EUR 1 million investment from NGL angel syndicate, Coinvest Capital, and others. With over 640,000 users worldwide and partnerships with 1,300 businesses, Walk15 plans to expand into the German market, establishing a new office in Berlin.
Walk15, a free walking app available in 25 languages globally, empowers users to track daily steps, engage in challenges, explore routes, unlock benefits and discounts, grow virtual trees, and contribute to CO2 reduction.
Justinas Pašys emphasized “Impressive achievements of the startup and trust in the founders – that’s what determined our decision to invest in Walk15.” Collaborating for four years, he acknowledged the startup's ambition, noting eightfold growth, expanded client base, and successful international strides.
Walk15, engaging users across multiple markets, including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Romania, Germany, and the United Kingdom, has strategic partnerships with Euroleague, ERGO, PENNY, and unicorns Vinted and Nord Security. The startup created over 10,000 step challenges in the past four years.
Founder and CEO Vlada Musvydaite-Vilčiauskė expressed gratitude for continuous support from Lithuanian business angels and VCs. The latest investment positions Walk15 to address the global problem of decreasing physical activity and related health issues, especially as it ventures into Germany.
At NGL we invest in startups via investment syndicates because there are many benefits of sharing competences, risks, and costs when investing in startups. First of all, it helps attract more and better deal flow due to the combined larger ticket. It also allows angels to invest smaller sums per startup, making more deals, building a portfolio, and diversifying. We also make collective analysis and decisions leveraging the expertise of our investor group.
